First practice for 7/8 MBSLA is Wednesday, April 7 at Willow Creek Middle School from 5:30-7:00 p.m.
The newest opportunity is the 7/8 MBSLA team. This team will be a little more challenging, but A LOT more rewarding. Even if you are new to lacrosse, coaches feel you will be successful with this team and able to catch on quickly with all the games and practices. Here is more information on the MBSLA 7/8 team:
Practices will be three times a week in the evenings starting April 7th with Jamboree’s on the weekends in the following locations:
4/25 (Sunday) at RCTC
5/1 (Saturday) at Spring Lake Park
5/8 (Saturday) at Oakdale
5/16 (Sunday) at Eagan
5/22 (Saturday) at St. Louis Park
At each of these jamborees, you will be playing multiple games which will help you improve both your fundamental skills and game strategy. Youth Lacrosse feels this will be the best way to not only have a fun and rewarding season, but also prepare for playing high school lacrosse. The fee to play in the MBSLA League is more than the Rochester Youth Lacrosse, but we feel it is well worth it for the opportunity to play more games against a variety teams. Therefore, the cost for each athlete is $175.
If you are interested in playing on this team, what you need to do next is: Send $100 to:
RASC
30 Civic Center Dr. SE
Rochester, MN 55904
*Checks payable to RASC. Please write your child’s name in the memo.
*There are 20 spots available on this team. Spots on the team are determined on a first come, first serve basis. First practice will be Wednesday, April 7th at Willow Creek Middle School. You will get your practice schedule this day. Time of first practice time is TBD, but it will be in the evening. Look for another e-mail with the time.
The second opportunity is the Rochester Youth Lacrosse 7/8 Youth Team. This is the team you sign up for when you register for Rochester Area Lacrosse. Everyone who doesn’t join the MBSLA 7/8 team will automatically be on the team. Beginners will do just fine on the MBSLA team. But if you are not comfortable with that, we are still offering a Rochester Youth Lacrosse team. The only challenge with this is that it is difficult to find other area teams to play because they all have a MBSLA 7/8 team that their kids play on. However, we will do our best to try and find teams to play on Saturdays for these kids. Practices will be twice a week, with games on Saturday. |
